1. How much money can I save?

2. Why do dental treatments cost less in Hungary?

In Hungary, wages are much less than in the UK; therefore, the cost of dental work such as dental implant, bridge and crown work is one-third of the UK prices. However, the quality of Hungarian dental services is acknowledged all over Europe.

3. What can I get for free?

4. How can I communicate with the staff?

Our dentists, implantologist, dental assistants and customer care colleagues speak English fluently. We can guarantee that the language will not cause any misunderstandings.

5. Can I pay in GBP phounds in Hungary?
Yes. We accept payments in GBP phounds both at the clinic and at the hotel. We are giving 2 % discount in the case of cash payment.

6. When do I have to pay my dentistry bill?
After the treatment, either in cash or by credit card. We accept all of the major credit cards at our clinic without extra charge. Credit card, Master card

7. How long do I need to stay in Budapest for?

It depends on the kind of treatment you need. Each case is unique; therefore, we recommend contacting us regarding this question. If we know what your specific needs are, we are able to tell you the duration of your treatment.

8. Do you provide guarantee?

Dental Anaesthesia Services provides a guarantee on the implants and the cosmetic dental works which is in line with or in some cases exceeds the international standards. In case of implant failure our dentist will place another implant at no additional cost to you.

9. What can I get done in a week?

The dentists can complete - if no complications occur - about 10-12 crowns and, additionally, a couple of fillings. It also depends on whether there is an inflammation in the mouth cavity and how the patient reacts to the treatment. You will get a treatment plan after the first consultation with the dentist. Note: In case a tooth is extracted but work still needs to be done, the second treatment will only be carried out after sufficient recovery time.

10. What kind of materials are used in Hungary?

In Hungary the same materials are used as in the US or in Western Europe, from Germany, Austria, England, Switzerland, Japan and the USA.

11. When can my treatment be started?

We can provide you appointment and arrange your travel and accommodation within 1-2 weeks. If your case is urgent, we will do our best to solve your problem immediately.

12. Do I get any help while I am in Budapest?

Our English-speaking staff provide continuous on-going personal support for your pleasant and safe stay by supplying all the necessary information regarding dental work, travel, accommodation, and tourist programs.

14. How Do Dental Implants Work?

Dental implants act as artificial roots. They are surgically placed into your jaw, and are the closest substitute to natural teeth in form and function. Once a dental implant is firmly integrated into your jaw, it can be used to support single crowns, bridges and dentures. Whether you are missing one tooth, several teeth or all of your teeth, dental implants may be an option for you.

15. How Do I Care for My Dental Implants?

Caring for dental implants is the same as caring for natural teeth. Simply follow the oral hygiene basics, which include brushing, flossing and regular dental check-ups. Our dentist or hygienist will show you how to keep your new teeth clean.

16. I still have amalgam fillings and I'd like to get them removed. Can I get it done in Hungary, as well?

Yes. The Clean-Up-System from the USA is used at the clinic in Hungary. It is the most effective method in the market. After removal of the amalgam filling, a couple of treatments are possible: depending on the size of the cavity, a new light-hardened filling, an inlay or a crown can be made.

17. What Steps are involved in Preparing a Tooth for a Crown?

Preparing a tooth for a crown usually requires two visits - the first step involves examining and preparing the tooth, the second visit involves placement of the permanent crown.

18. How Should I Care for My Temporary Dental Crown?

· Avoid sticky, chewy foods (for example, chewing gum, caramel), which have the potential of grabbing and pulling off the crown.

· Minimize use of the side of your mouth with the temporary crown. Shift the bulk of your chewing to the other side of your mouth.

· Avoid chewing hard foods (such as raw vegetables), which could dislodge or break the crown.

· Slide flossing material out-rather than lifting out-when cleaning your teeth. Lifting the floss out, as you normally would, might pull off the temporary crown.

19. How Long Do Dental Crowns Last?

On average, dental crowns last between 5 and 15 years. The life span of a crown depends on the amount of "wear and tear" the crown is exposed to, how well you follow good oral hygiene practices, and your personal mouth-related habits (you should avoid such habits as grinding or clenching your teeth, chewing ice, biting your fingernails and using your teeth to open packaging).

20. Does a Crowned Tooth Require any Special Care?

While a crowned tooth does not require any special care, remember that simply because a tooth is crowned does not mean the underlying tooth is protected from decay or gum disease. Therefore, continue to follow good oral hygiene practices, including brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing once a day-especially around the crown area where the gum meets the tooth.

1. What is LASIK and how does it work?

It is a painless laser surgery performed on your eyes, that can correct refractive problems such as near-sightedness, far-sightedness and astigmatism.

2. What does the word LASIK mean?

3. How long have they been using LASIK?

The LASIK procedure has been used worldwide for about 10 years. The first clinical test was performed in the USA in 1991, however, they have been using its basic principles for much longer. Ophthalmologists have been forming and changing the cornea for more than 50 years. The excimer laser has been used since the 80's.

4. Why is LASIK cosidered a new developement in refractive surgery?

LASIK combines the benefits of the precise excimer laser and corneal formation techniques.

5. Who is a candidate for LASIK surgery?

People who are near-sighted, and far-sighted or use cylinder correction devices. For whatever reason they decide they do not wish to or can not wear glasses or contacts. They must also be aware of the possible complication, even though they are very rare. Ultimately, it is decided whether you may be a candidate after a complete eye exam performed at our clinic.

6. Who is not a candidate for LASIK surgery?

We do not perform surgery under age 18. Surgery is not recommended for people whose degree of refractive problems or prescription may still change. There are also contra-indications for a few eye and general diseases, which will be discussed during your examination (ie. Keratoconus, other corneal disorders, severe degrees of blurred vision, advanced diabetes, pacemaker). Surgery is not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Certain diseases increase the risks involved in having the procedure, therefore a decision is made based on your individual state of health.

7. I am totally satisfied with my contact lenses. Is there any reason I should have the LASIK surgery?

Most ophthalmologists agree that people who have no problems or complaints about wearing contact lenses or glasses, should really consider whether it is worth it for them to have the LASIK surgery.

8. How much does the surgery cost?

It varies depending on where you want to have it done. Our prices range from 85,000 FT- 198,000 FT on one eye, depending on which type of procedure you choose to have.

9. What results can I expect after the surgery?

Your general eye-sight, without additional correction, improves greatly after the LASIK surgery. 95% of patients can drive without glasses or contacts. In fact many reach 1.0 or 100% clear vision.

10. Will I have completely clear vision after the surgery?

Patients need to know that the 1.0 or 100% clear vision after surgery may be different than the previously 1.0 vision acheived by wearing glasses or contacts; depending on which type of procedure they have. It is also important to know that over 40 years of age, as the eye's ability to adapt decreases, reading glasses will probably be needed.

11. How lasting are the results?

Diopters corrected with laser surgery do not regress, but you should not forget that throughout life eyesight continually changes. This is why eye doctors only recommend laser surgery, if your eyesight has not changed for a longer period of time. Usually, your eyes stop changing after age 18.

12. How long does the procedure take?

The surgery takes about 15-20 minutes for both eyes, but the actual treatment takes only about 1-2 minutes.

13. Can I drive right after the surgery?

No, it is not recommended. You should be accompanied by someone to the surgery. Although, in many cases your eyesight is dramatically improved from the first minute, but some blurriness may still be possible. Your cornea will be swollen, you may be sensitive to light, have tearing or a strange feeling like there is something in your eye afterwards.

14. What type of anaesthesia is used during the procedure?

During the surgery you are given local anaesthesia in the form of drops. You will also receive a mild pill prior to the procedure to relax you.

15. Will I feel pain during the surgery?

Due to the desensitizing drops you would receive prior to the procedure, there is no pain. However, you may feel mild discomfort.

16. Do they perform the surgery on both eyes at once, or is one eye treated weeks later?

Nowadays, both eyes are usually treated at once. The last ten years of experience has shown that there are no greater risks or complications, if both eyes are treated at the same time. In fact, this way you avoid the uncomfortable feeling of experiencing the difference between the treated and untreated eye. (One eye perceives objects differently than the other. It may cause you to feel uncertain, dizzy, and possibly even give you a headache.) It's easier to only have to prepare for the procedure once.

17. If I decide to have my eyes treated at different times, how will that effect the way my eyes work together?

It is recommended that in between the two surgeries you wear contacts in the un-operated eye, so that the difference between the two is not too disturbing.

18. How long do I have to wait after the surgery to go back to work?

This depends on the type of work you do. In most cases, patients are able to return to work the next day. In certain cases (where the job requires perfect vision), it is worthwhile to stay home for a day or two. However, in any case, there is no reason to take an extended vacation.

19. Can I play sports after the surgery?

Directly after the surgery you can do light sporting activity. It is recommended that you avoid any sporting activity that can injure the eye for two weeks following the treatment. With these types of sports, you should probably wear protective eye gear for at least 1 month. Avoid swimming for two-three weeks.

20. When can I fly after the surgery?

Anytime. Air travel has no affect on the surgery.

21. How long does it take after the surgery for me to see clearly and when will I see the best?

The day of the surgery you will already have relatively good vision, which may change in the first few days. Your vision will stabilize in the following 2-3 months.

22. Will I have to wear reading glasses after the surgery?

You may need reading glasses after age 40, regardless of whether you have the surgery or not. It is a natural fact, that as you grow older your eye's ability to adapt decreases.

23. Will my eyes look different after LASIK?

The external appearance of your eyes will not change after the surgery.

24. How safe is the procedure?

Many tests prove that LASIK is a safe and effective procedure. As with all surgeries, there are some risks, but these are meaningless compared to the benefits you would receive.
